Senior Audio Artist

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Audio Artist who can make an immediate contribution to audio development within the EA Audioworks team on a story driven Star Wars project. The successful candidate must be able to work with Audioworks Directors to help drive the goals and vision for the group as a whole. This individual should have experience in all phases of audio design and production, with proficiency in every key component – sound design, music, voice production, and implementation. This candidate will work within the Audioworks team and must have the ability to collaborate with all other aspects of game development (i.e. Art, Animation, Engineering, Design, Production, Marketing) to push the quality bar for game audio. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the Star Wars franchise, with an overwhelming drive to create a world class audio experience. They must be a strong problem-solver and an effective communicator with broad game-creation and sound creation skills.

Responsibilities
• Create and implement incredible sounding weapons that are authentic to the Star Wars universe
• Ensure quality of combat related sounds (weapons, projectile bys and impacts, explosions)
• Clear communication and collaboration with the dev team in regard to related sound effects
• Creative sound design that’s in line with the goals and vision of the title
• Build a good rapport with the dev team and represent Audioworks accordingly
• Be able to help other audio artists, and mentor junior audio artists as needed
• Define deliverables, own the delivery schedule with Audioworks Development & Audio Directors, and responsible for the quality of work in your area
• Maintain a strong collaborative audio team environment

Requirements
• Minimum of seven years’ game/audio experience
• Strong triple AAA console experience
• Has a broad experience using game development tools, technology and pipelines
• Is an expert with modern audio creation equipment, software and recording techniques, with a high level of proficiency in at least one DAW
• Strong content creating skills for a surround experience
• Strong communication skills
• Good creative and technical thinker
• Self-motivated
• Works well as part of a team

Audio Designer

Responsibilities
• Work with the Audio Director and Audio Lead to deliver the audio vision for each project
• Take ownership of one or more audio features, and push these as far as possible, both creatively and technically
• Create, integrate, and iterate audio assets to the highest quality levels
• Build key relationships with other disciplines to deliver strong data/gameplay driven audio elements
• Assist the Lead Audio Designer or Audio Director with any other ad hoc responsibilities

Qualifications
• Strong sound design knowledge and skills
• Highly skilled use of sound design tools (such as DAW, plug-ins, synthesis techniques etc.)
• Strong gameplay instincts
• Comprehensive understanding of at least one audio engine (such as Wwise, FMOD, XACT etc.)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Motivated and pragmatic

Relevant experience
• Bachelor’s degree in audio production or audio engineering or other relevant training
• 2 – 3 years’ experience working within Audio Design, preferably within games, or other relevant experience

Research Intern

Job description

The Audio 360 team at Facebook is looking for exceptional interns to help us improve spatial audio experiences in media. Expertise in 3D or spatial audio, audio research, acoustics, signal processing, psychoacoustics, and computer science are especially appreciated. Strong math skills are a plus. We want to support the spatial audio/VR audio research community, so we encourage publishing. Come join us as we make immersive media like 360 Videos even better!

We are accepting applications from students interested in (but not limited to) the following areas: Audio, Spatial Audio, Audio for VR, 3D audio, Ambisonics, Signal processing, Acoustics, and Psychoacoustics. Our internships are sixteen (16) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.

Post Production Assistant
Company: Pinewood Studios / MBS Lighting

Job description

Pinewood MBS Lighting is looking for a Post Production Assistant to coordinate the smooth day to day running of the sound post production department.

Responsibilities
• Customer and Employee liaison support
• Support the post production operations coordinator and head of digital recording and editorial
• Deal with client queries regarding DCS facilities
• Create quotations for clients
• Manage the bookings of DCS facilities for clients
• Deal with the billing and costing for DCS services and ensure invoices are billed correctly for finance
• To maintain relationships with clients promoting the Pinewood brand
• Control staff scheduling for DCS projects and book staff onto projects
• Managing the casting database with up-to-date information
• Assisting with advertising casting via spotlight and internal casting pages
• Downloading all auditions clips to central storage location
• Managing the casting email account, assisting with artist/agents and scheduling
• Managing the relationship with artist/agents, keeping them updated with status auditions and recording days
• Promote sales within the DCS function
• Provide a top rate customer service for all DCS customers and clients
