About Gilles Monfort

French composer, sound artist, field recordist, tubist, pianist and singer.

My work is diverse and expressed through many different genres, media and projects: live performances (electronic music, jazz, rock, classical, early music, free improvisation, vocal polyphony, North Indian classical music…), electroacoustic compositions, phonography, music scores and soundtracks for films, dance and theater plays.

I had sound creations commissioned by Festival “En chair et en son” (Paris, 2016), World sacred music festival of Fès (Morocco, 2017), “Un autre Orient” (carte blanche to festival “Les Orientales”, in “Lieu Unique”, Nantes, 2017), “Each morning of the world” (2018, web release), and for the show “Alpana Baul” (Musée du Quai Branly, Paris, 2019).
