Sound designer | USA | CaliforniaLianna Squillace is a sound designer, educator, and writer based in Los Angeles. She currently mixes a variety of hit podcasts for Exactly Right Media.
Lianna studied music at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts before moving to Chicago in 2013 to complete her undergraduate studies. Lianna earned her Bachelor of Arts in Audio Design and Production from Columbia College Chicago in 2015, and her Master of Arts in Sound Arts and Industries from Northwestern University in 2019.
Lianna has worked as a recording and mixing engineer for organizations such as Sofar Sounds and for NPR’s “Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me!” live show. In addition, Lianna has worked as the sound designer and re-recording mixer for such acclaimed web-series as the Emmy-nominated Brown Girls, and Webby Award honoree Menace, as well as the Oscar shortlisted film Stay Close.
Lianna has held adjunct teaching positions at both Columbia College Chicago and Northwestern University, where her course load covered topics such as audio theory and production, analog and digital signal flow, and the art of sound design for film.
While in LA, Lianna has also worked as a mixing and broadcast engineer for American Public Media, supporting the national radio program Marketplace and the “Make Me Smart” podcast, as well as a senior audio engineer for LinkedIn.
