About Nils Gradlowsky

Hi! My name is Nils and I love storytelling through sound.
I am always listening around for inspiring sounds to record and edit to invoke emotions and create new worlds in my projects. I specialise both in Production Sound and Sound Design for film and am hugely interested in Field Recording as well. The last couple of years, I have worked as a boom operator in my home country Germany and started working on the Sound Design of films, which got screened at international film festivals around the world. Recently, I have moved to Edinburgh, Scotland to pursue my Sound Design studies at Edinburgh Napier University.

I believe in the bigger picture. Hence, I find it essential to be aware of all the other fields of filmmaking that make a movie successful. Besides storytelling through sound, I am therefore also interested in storytelling regarding the writing process of a film script. I have already taken Screen Writing courses at the University of Edinburgh that tremendously contributed to my overall understanding of filmmaking. I am excited to bring my skills to perfection and to experience further fields of Sound Design during my studies at the Napier University. I am always keen to meet new people and on the lookout for new challenges.
