About Rob Ballingall

Born in London and raised on the south coast of England, I cut my teeth as a young recording, mixing and mastering engineer. Training in audio post production with a focus on songwriting values, I lean on a varied skill set to bring an emphasis on music to commercial projects.

Studying at Platform One College of Music, the creatively renowned Bath Spa University, and finally, the New York School of Audio Engineering, I relocated to New York City in 2011 and assisted a number of Grammy Award winning mix engineers before moving into the Audio Post field. I try to always bring a mastering engineer’s point of view when working for TV, ensuring the audio is delivered to network specification, and also audibly transparent.

My current role at Sonic Union in NYC has me bouncing between a number of different roles; predominantly as a re-recording mixer, but also heavily as a sound designer, composer and experiential mixer, offering game/VR audio development and integration and non-standard format mixing.
