About Silas Hite

Composer | SLH Creative, Inc | USA | Ohio

Silas Hite is an Emmy-winning composer with music in his DNA. Before becoming a freelance composer, he began his career co-scoring blockbuster films such as Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs with his uncle, noted composer Mark Mothersbaugh (DEVO). Since then he’s contributed memorable music to video games such as The Simpsons, Skate 3, Tetris mobile, and quite a bit of The Sims franchise. He routinely composes both music and sound design for Google Doodles, the films and interactive games that appear on the Google homepage.

His music can also be heard in television shows around the world, from kids shows like Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get A Clue!, Disney’s Dance-A-Lot Robot, and PIXAR’s Mater’s Tall Tales to adult shows such as Chef’s Table (Netflix) and Abused by the Police
(BBC) and The Big Brunch (HBO). He has scored hundreds of commercials for clients such as Apple, McDonalds, and Chevy, earning him an Emmy, Adweek’s Campaign of the Decade, and most recently a Titanium Grand Prix from Cannes.

His music has played in such venerable institutions as the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art, the New York Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum, and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
