About Alex Burnett
Composer | Alex Burnett Music | UKAlex is a composer for Games, Film and TV. He is also skilled in sound design, arranging/orchestration, audio editing and mixing. Alex has a Bachelor’s Degree in Music, and a Masters in Composition for Film and TV from the University of Bristol. He has years of experience writing soundtracks for media. Some of the video games he has scored include sci-fi puzzle-platformer ‘The Mimic’ (PC), ‘Bean&Gone: PlayPatch’ (Mobile), ‘Frankenstein: Birth of a Myth’ (PC) and narrative adventure game ‘The Wanderer: Frankenstein’s Creature’ (Nintendo Switch, PC, Mobile) for which his work was recently nominated in the category of ‘Best Soundtrack’ at the Ping Awards 2020.
Alex scored the BBC Earth award-winning wildlife film ‘Giants on the Edge’ and received a nomination for Best Original Score for his work on medieval fantasy series ‘9Realms’ at international film festival Los Angeles CineFest. He also has experience as a music arranger/director working at ITV London Studios on award-winning comedy talk show The Last Leg and collaborating with British band Bastille for C4’s The Lateish Show. Other notable film/TV clients include Panasonic UK, ZSL London Zoo, The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust and Channel 4.
Most recently, Alex worked as the composer/sound designer on new Switch game ‘The Wanderer: Frankenstein’s Creature’ which has already received many accolades in the industry including winning the BolognaRagazzi 2020 Digital Award, receiving a nomination for Best Story at Gamescom 2018 as well as an honourable mention for the Best in Play Awards at GDC 2019. It was also featured at the UK’s biggest games event EGX. The game is a co-production of renowned European TV network ARTE in collaboration with French games studio La Belle Games and was released for PC in October 2019. The Switch version is out in April of this year and currently Alex is finalising The Wanderer soundtrack album for its upcoming release.
