About Andy Martin
Field recordist | Northwest Soundscapes LLC | USA | WashingtonSound Designer, Field Recordist, Dork
Award-winning sound designer and field recordist Andy Martin first discovered sound design while attending Berklee College of Music in the nineties. He’s since crisscrossed the United States making nifty noises for film, television, video games, commercials, VR, libraries, and more. First and foremost he’s a field recordist. When not making things on a screen go boop, you can find him out in the woods listening for birds and insects, stalking railways for excellent train pass-bys, and generally putting microphones places they shouldn’t go.
After nine years at Sucker Punch Productions making inFamous super-powers and two more years at Oculus in Seattle making VR and 3D spatial audio sounds, Andy began freelancing full-time as a field recordist and sound designer for companies like Skywalker Sound, Sony, Polyarc Games, ArenaNet, and more. He’s also slowly documenting the natural wilderness sounds of the Pacific Northwest here in the United States. Feel free to take a listen and follow along!
