About Dimos Stathoulis
Composer | GreeceDimos Stathoulis started his music studies at the age of 7 as a classical guitar player. In 1998 he attented the computers science department at Democritus University of Thrace where he had the chance to expand his knowledge around the wave principles, the digital signal and the computer technology, studies that infuenced directly his music productions. In this period he also completed his music studies by obtaining a masters degree in classical guitar, music theoretics, counterpoint and fuge.
Besides the academic courses he participated in various other music activities, offering his excellent guitar skills as a session player for records or bands. By that time he gained valuable knowledge and experience that helped him define his musical identity and ultimately set the path to his compotition journey. During that period he collaborated with other music proffesionals from virtuoso instrumentalists to exceptional vocalists that today participate in his music productions.
Whether it be writing evocative orchestral music or scoring for solo instruments Dimos has a natural love for unconvetional harmony. His music language infuses his academic backround and his constant search for fresh sounds and unheard material. He scores in various styles, pushing their narrow limits by combining unexpected instruments, with a tendency towards the orchestral sound that he usually incorporates with other music gender when the film sound is the purpose.
