About Justin McKinney

As a seasoned musician and composer, I have built a dynamic career at the intersection of music creation, performance, and content management. My progressive metal band, The Zenith Passage, is signed to Metal Blade Records and has achieved notable acclaim with our latest album, Datalysium. Released in 2023, Datalysium charted in multiple Billboard Top 20 categories and claimed the #1 position on Apple Music’s Metal Charts for over a week. I composed all the music for the record, managing the production, recording, and mixing processes, in addition to overseeing the band’s social media presence and content creation.

From 2014 to 2018, I served as a guitarist and co-songwriter for the critically acclaimed band The Faceless. Our album In Becoming a Ghost (released on Sumerian Records) garnered millions of streams and ranked on several Billboard charts, reflecting the band’s innovative contributions to the metal genre.

Beyond my work in metal, I have collaborated with leading brands like Wizards of the Coast, contributing music and sound design to projects under the Magic: The Gathering franchise. My expertise also extends to the toy industry, where I have composed music and sound design for award-winning, #1-selling products on Amazon. My role as a Creative Services Manager further honed my ability to merge artistic innovation with commercial strategy, particularly in product development.

As a global performer, I have toured extensively, bringing the music I’ve created to audiences around the world. My solo efforts in launching and growing The Zenith Passage have cultivated an engaged audience of tens of thousands, showcasing my ability to connect with fans through both artistry and strategy.
