Kam Falk has been a professor of audio engineering since 1997. He was on the faculty at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale from 1997 until 2014. He is a 2009 graduate of Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida, with a Master of Arts in Commercial Music Composition and Production. Having earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Theory and Composition at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida (1987), he has been a producer/ composer/arranger/orchestrator, performer, educator and television/radio spot producer since 1980. In 2001, he established his own independent record label, Falkreations Music (BMI). Falkreations Music is distributed at CD Baby, iTunes, Amazon.com and nearly 50 other internet retailers.
As a producer, composer/arranger and artist/performer, Mr. Falk released his debut enhanced jazz fusion CD of original compositions entitled NATIVE TONGUE in 2001. NATIVE TONGUE features Kam on six-string bass and keyboards, with twelve celebrated guests including drummer, Gerry Brown (Stevie Wonder, Stanley Clarke, Diana Ross, Vanessa Williams); guitarist, Elliott Randall (Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers, Saturday Night Live); and so many more. In 2010, he released his second solo outing entitled RETRO-RESPECT, which features 11 special guests including saxophonist, K. D. MacKendrick of the Champs, along with many others. Later in 2010, he released a CD of solo piano music entitled WEDDING DAY on his Falkreations Music (BMI) label. That projedt features a 50/50 mix of original and cover material. His follow-up release is entiltled NATIVE TONGUE II, and is his most ambitious effort to date. It features 10 original compositions with 16 incredible guests lending their talent. Mr. Falk has also been employed as a session bassist, keyboardist, audio engineer and producer for numerous other artists including guitarist, Dorian Vaz, who was featured in the February, 2007, issue of Guitar Player magazine. Falk has produced, published and distributed several other CD’s and enhanced CD’s through partnerships with other independent record labels, such as Midnight Lamp Cybermedia Arts, and through Falkreations Music (BMI). He has written numerous arrangements for big bands, combos and, in 2007, completed a symphony in three movements entitled, THE BELLIGER SYMPHONY.
Currently, Mr. Falk is producing the newest Falkreations Music release of a CD featuring collaborative compositions by keyboardist and vocalist, Gary Bivona, as well as vocalist, Marcel Morejon’s sophomore release on the label and several solo singles to be released throughout 2017-18.
As an educator, Falk teaches the subjects of music theory, composition, performance and audio engineering (including 5.1 surround sound engineering), along with audio and video pre- and post-production techniques.
Additionally, Falk has produced numerous television and radio spots for agencies such as Zimmerman Partners in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, McGee and Star Advertising in Boca Raton, Florida, and Dobson Media Works in Boca Raton, Florida.
