About Richard Alan Hannon

I am a field recordist based in northeast Ohio (south of Cleveland). I work with Sound Devices and Sony recorders, a variety of low-noise microphones in A/B, ORTF, X/Y and binaural configurations. I also use a pair of Aquarian hydrophones and Barcus Berry contact microphones.

As a former long-time newspaper photojournalist who used his eyes more than his ears, I approach each gig with fresh ears. I have the people skills to effortlessly work with individuals from varied backgrounds. My research skills tell me to do my homework before jumping feet first. I know how to overcome challenging situations with grace and complete assignments on deadline.

I am available to travel nationwide for your film and other post sound recording needs.
