About Alex Mackenzie
Composer | UKHi! I am a multi-disciplinary freelancer, specialising in music and audio. I am a musician, producer, composer, sound designer and editor. Over the years I’ve been involved with many great music projects, and more lately I’ve worked extensively in the realm of audiobooks and podcasts, with clients such as Penguin, Audible, Faber and MacMillan.
Currently I am releasing ambient music as A.D. Mackenzie, on all streaming platforms. Before the pandemic I had a band project called Corinthians, also available to stream.
A definite highlight from recent times was working on the ‘Moss’ Audible Original fiction series, written by nature writer Melissa Harrison. I was composer, producer, and sound designer, and I created a rich soundscape drawn from field recordings of nature, to accompany the story.
