About Thomas Pape

I am a Danish sound designer who loves technology and creative challenges. I have a keen ear for details, and works with subtle techniques to bring out the best in every scene, and every recording. I strives to accentuate the director’s vision, and help communicate the project’s idea without drawing unnecessary attention away from the narrative.

From 2009 to 2011, I moved to Sweden to go to Fridhems Folkhögskole, where I learned film making. From 2011 to 2015, I moved back to Denmark to establish my company Plain Momentum, where I worked with DR, SVT, TV2, Zentropa, Nimbus, Discovery Channel, Three Friends, etc. I freelanced in Copenhagen for 4 years and have worked on more than 40 short films.
In 2015 I started at the Norwegian Film School where I have worked to specialize in cinematographic storytelling and immersive Sound Design in the form of VR and Dolby Atmos. I graduated as Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2018.

I have won the award for best sound design at the Pixel Film Festival in Malmö in 2011 for “Mamma, Pappa, Barn” and was sound designer for the opera “Other Buildings” that won the Reumert award for Best Opera 2015.
I was sound recordist on the TV2 25 year commercial that won Promax Gold in 2013, as “Best Foreign Language”.
