About Bernard Frost Productions

My name is Bernard Frost and I run a small audio post production facility in the heart of the Garden Route, South Africa.

For the past two years I have worked in the television and independent film industry as a Sound Designer and Re-Recording Mixer. All of the projects I worked on, had a very small budget and it was expected of me to render a full post production service. From editing dialogue to final mix, making sure the audio adheres to broadcast standards.

In 2022 I had the privilege of working on 5 films made for television that did not exceed 50 minutes in length each, produced by Garden Route Media for Kyknet. The production crew had very little time to shoot and the sound crew focused their attention on getting the best possible dialogue, which meant that I had very little production sound to work with. This excited me as I had the opportunity to craft soundscapes and sound effects that best suited each scene.

Apart from television and independent film, I also do corporate work as it becomes available and have done numerous assignments for Momentum through Little Brother Media Productions.

Most recently, and I am very excited about this, I have been appointed by Desire Gardiner to assist her with audio media for her stage production of Magda Low, which will debut at the Suidooster Fees end of April 2023.

Post Production remains side hustle as I hold a fulltime day job as a Senior Switchboard Operator at the Garden Route District Municipality. The position suits me well as a visually impaired person as it provides financially, until I am comfortable enough to transition into audio post full time, which I hope to be soon.

I can assure you that I will not take on a project if I know I cannot deliver on. Post production is something I have always dreamt about doing and I’m working tirelessly to move into the field on a fulltime basis, either as a freelancer of fulltime employment.
