Overview
We are looking for a new Editor to join our Sound Design and Audio Engineering team in Los Angeles or New York. This role supports audio development across Paramount Creative and Strategy focusing on sound design, mixing, and maintaining the department’s audio pipeline. The Editor is a hands-on creative who understands narrative rhythm, pacing, and sound as a storytelling tool. They work alongside editorial, design, screens, brand, events, social content, and experiential teams with consistency, taste, and technical accuracy. This position reports to the Paramount Creative & Strategy Executive Producer.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Execute sound design and mixing across Paramount Creative and Strategy projects including editorial, motion graphics, screens, brand, social, presentation, experiential, and internal communications
  • Build detailed soundscapes, custom sound effects, environmental textures, and audio treatments that elevate storytelling and design in both long form and short form content
  • Deliver fast turnaround mixes and sound design for social media, short form campaigns, and rapid response creative
  • Create dynamic and impactful audio for sizzles, sales tapes, recaps, and high energy internal or external business content
  • Support voice over sessions, interviews, talent records, and in room sessions
  • Record clean production sound on set including interviews, dialogue, ambience, and practical effects
  • Maintain and troubleshoot audio hardware, software, plug ins, musical instruments, electronic instruments, and workstations
  • Support audio workflows, deliverable standards, session organization, versioning, archiving, and technical consistency
  • Collaborate with editors, motion designers, producers, screens teams, creative directors, and senior management
  • Coordinate with freelancers and external vendors as needed
  • Deliver polished mixes for linear playback, looping environments, adaptive installations, large format displays, social platforms, and multi-platform outputs
  • Maintain organized sound effect libraries, sample libraries, instrument libraries, and audio databases
  • Support innovation by incorporating modern workflows, new tools, and evolving AI assisted sound practices
Basic Qualifications:
  • 3+ years professional experience in sound design, audio engineering, and mixing for visual media
Additional Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Pro Tools, Logic, and modern plug in ecosystems
  • Understanding of signal flow, microphones, recording techniques, audio repair tools, noise reduction, cleanup workflows, mixing, mastering, and gain staging

Berklee College of Music is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Chair of the Professional Music Department.The Professional Music Department at Berklee includes 5 full-time and 5 part-time faculty, 2 adjunct faculty, 1 full time staff employee, and over 330 Berklee students. As one of the largest majors at the College, Professional Music is an established program that offers a “design-your-own major/entrepreneurial approach” for students. The Department works closely with students to individualize their undergraduate program of study to be directly aligned with career goals. Further, the Department offers innovative instruction, regularly engages with music industry professionals, sponsors visiting artists and annual events, oversees Berklee Revelation Records (a student-run initiative), engages in community development, and provides opportunities for experiential learning.

Working under the direction and supervision of the Chair, the Assistant Chair provides leadership in the practical implementation of artistic and educational goals of the Division, with a focus on student support, as well as operations and augmented curricular offerings (e.g. guest artists, special presentations and events, etc.). The Assistant Chair reports to the Chair, as well as the Dean, and works closely with Division faculty, staff, and the Berklee academic and artistic community.

This is a 12-month administrative position with an expected start date of August 2026. Initial appointment is for three years.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Represent the department in administrative settings both within Berklee and externally, modeling professionalism and serving as a liaison among internal and external stakeholders.

Junior Technical Sound Designer

Climax Studios was established over 30 years ago, we have an extensive history in developing all kinds of digital experiences across all formats, and we have won multiple awards along the way. You’ll be based out of our brand new, state of the art studio at Lakeside North Harbour set in stunning 130-acre landscaped grounds in Portsmouth.

We are looking for a Junior Technical Audio Designer to join our award-winning development team on a AAA remaster/port project. The project consists of migrating existing audio data to Unreal Engine 5, assisted by the programming team, and overseeing the porting of existing modding tools to work with Unreal Engine. The work will require an attentive ear to ensure the mix and presentation of the game remains consistent. Additionally, strong skills in Unreal Engine will be required to utilise its unique features and find opportunities to improve on the original title’s audio.

There are multiple ways to succeed on this project and we welcome applications from Audio Designers and Technical Audio Designers. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering a modern, faithful, and performant migration of audio for multiple platforms, including consoles and handhelds. You will oversee the programmers assigned to the migration tooling and ensure the converted data is up to standard and follows the best practices for Unreal Engine audio. You will be responsible for ensuring the game’s modding tools provide good usability for users. You will be responsible for solving edge cases that tooling is unable to solve, potentially writing or modifying Blueprints.

You will be supported by an Audio Lead who will provide guidance and support. On top of this, Climax’s wider audio team will be available for support and advice.

Requirements

Experience with audio for games and creating interactive experiences
