As a Senior Voice Over Designer you will be creating and maintaining engaging vocal processing that supports the fantasy and gameplay moments within World of Warcraft. You will work directly with a team of sound designers, producers, and various other members of the development team to bring Azeroth to life through audio. If you are passionate about sound, dialog, making games, and working in a team environment, then we would love to hear from you.

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, California.

What you bring to the table:

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain processing templates for a wide variety of characters.
  • Work with localization partners to ensure consistent and quality dialog across all regions.
  • Define processing for sonically complex characters, where VO and sound design intersect.
  • Work closely with sound design and narrative design ensure processing supports the fiction, world building, and in-universe rules for sound.
  • Use WoW tools for planning, research, tracking, and implementation.
  • Occasionally create sounds for creatures, constructed languages, sounds that support and reinforce VO, and other sound design tasks.
  • Help design pipeline improvements and streamlined workflow, as needed.
  • Work in collaborative environment, sharing your work and audio perspective with peers in audio and in cross-discipline groups.
  • Tackle technical and creative challenges to achieve the best possible player experience.
Minimum Requirements Experience
  • 4+ years working in dialog pipelines, creating outstanding dialog processing for games or other media
  • 1 or more years working with commercial and/or proprietary audio implementation tools.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Proven proficiency working in DAW workstations, like REAPER, Nuendo or Pro Tools.
  • Demo reel or audio portfolio including representative examples of voice design and sound design experience.
Extra Points Experience
  • Shipped multiple titles in a creative role for Voice or Sound Design.
  • Have played World of Warcraft (A Very Big Plus).
  • Designed sounds for fantasy and open world games.

The Game

As a VO / Speech Artist, you will work on the next evolution of the skate.™ franchise as part of the Create Audio team. The Role

You will work with core game team partners and the audio team to lead our VO efforts on an ambitious new project. As an audio artist on the EA Create Audio team, you will deliver a high quality and engaging audio experience, and being a major contributor to our audio community.

What We Are Looking

For You will have a passion for video games, a desire to create world-class audio and an ability to bring the best out of their team members and peers.

  • Drive and champion the role of VO across the game – working with other creative, technical, and production leaders to agree the scope and scale of features in an ever-evolving live-service game.
  • Own in-game VO playback and tuning, and take responsibility for final quality.
  • Collaborate with writers, gameplay designers and audio programmers to design systemic dialogue features such as living-world pedestrians and narrative delivery.
  • Support preparation for VO recording sessions; session planning, script exports, providing reference audio/video materials.
  • Methodically manage and track the editorial, mastering and databasing of very large amounts of VO files in proprietary database following strict naming conventions.
  • Participate in building a stronger audio community across multiple studios within EA
What You Bring
  • Seven years game audio and/or post-production experience Experience in all phases of VO design and production, from recording, precision editing and design to system design and technical implementation.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-domain experts from narrative, design, and programming, including senior leadership.
  • Experience owning a project feature, and driving innovation and flagging risks, within agreed boundaries.
  • Proficient in using game development tools, technology and pipelines (eg Wwise, Unreal)
Bonuses
  • MA, BAA or BSET in Sound technology program or equivalent.
