Inflexion Games is searching for an Audio Designer to join the Audio Department. The Audio department is responsible for every aspect of the sonic experience and the Audio team contributes to the overall vision by creating an immersive world that supports the gameplay and rich Art style, putting the player experience first.

What you’ll do
  • Design and implement high-quality audio assets within Audiokinetic’s Wwise and UE4
  • Manage Wwise project organization, structures, gameplay parameter setups and performance/memory optimizations
  • Scope and manage the delivery of owned content areas alongside the audio director
  • Work alongside audio programmers and sound designers to develop the framework of audio playback systems based on creative vision and gameplay needs
  • Collaborate with various disciplines (art, design, and engineering) to ensure audio systems are incorporated into all relevant aspects of gameplay
  • Troubleshoot and debug audio tools, systems and functionality
  • Take part in playtests, giving and receiving feedback both within the Audio team and the wider development team
What we’re looking for
  • Minimum 1 year of professional sound design experience in the video game industry
  • Experience with Audiokinetic Wwise
  • Knowledge of UE4 tools and workflow (Familiarity with C++ is a bonus)
  • Experienced in audio recording, processing and mixing techniques
  • Proficient with audio software tools and plugins (e.g. Reaper, Pro Tools, Nuendo, iZotope RX etc )
  • Please include a portfolio with your application that showcases in-game examples of your sound design and implementation.

Audio QA Lead

Creative Assembly is looking for an experienced Audio QA Lead, to join our Audio QA Team based at our studio in Horsham, in the heart of West Sussex.

In this exciting role, the successful candidate will enable the finding, grading, and reporting of defects completely and concisely, communicating key defects, feedback and testing requirements to stakeholders in both QA and the rest of the development team. As a QA Lead, you will achieve this through effective management of a group of testers who specialise in audio.

Flexible working at Creative Assembly includes hybrid, fully remote for eligible roles, and in-studio. We recognise that there is no one-size-fits-all approach and empower our teams to define the working patterns which work best for them, which may mean different things for different teams and roles and at different times.

This role is Hybrid and has an expectation of 1-2 days per week in our Horsham studio. This role cannot offer fully remote working. Further details can be discussed during the recruitment process.

Key Responsibilities

You will be key in developing test frameworks, test infrastructure and automating test scenarios, and help accelerate all aspects of product development, pipelines, tooling.

On a Day-to-day Basis, You Will
  • Drive the completion of tasks for both yourself and your team under the direction of the Senior Audio QA Lead
  • Create and deliver test strategies, methods, and cases to maintain a AAA audio quality standard
  • Support the QA and development teams through documentation of internal test strategies and methods
  • Deliver regular reports of bug status and test progress to relevant stakeholders
  • Maintain QA tools and resources to support the wider audio & QA team
  • Mentor, support and organise a specialist QA team through 1:1’s
  • Maintain a consistent and close collaboration process with the audio development team with a strong focus on quality
  • Be a proactive member of the team that continuously strives to develop and self-improve.
Knowledge, Skill and Experience Essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to relay important information in the most suited format
  • Previous experience in a QA role, preferably on a AAA title within a development studio
  • Proficient time management and organisational skills, able to handle multiple tasks and meet set deadlines and priorities
  • Experience using audio middleware software such as Wwise
  • Ability to follow set process and implement this among the team
  • Ability to self-manage and generate tasks to drive the process and testing of an area
  • A desire to lead, mentor and develop staff in a fast-paced agile working environment
  • Wide ranging experience playing a variety of PC video games including the Real-Time Strategy genre of games
  • A passion for video games and a desire to be part of the creative process involved in developing video games.

Your Mission

Sledgehammer Games is looking for a Dialog Designer to help create a fresh new AAA aural experience for our next project. Candidates should be versed in dialog editing and processing techniques and have a general knowledge of dialog pipelines. You will report to our Dialog Director and help ensure delivery of the highest quality dialog with the use of internally developed proprietary tools.

  • Edit, design and process dialog assets for all aspects of our game.
  • Collaborate with the Dialog and Narrative Teams, ensuring excellent inter-departmental communication and alignment of goals.
  • Interactive and linear dialog design.
  • Dialog asset implementation using proprietary tools.
  • Apply studio and departmental standard methodologies of dialog workflows and systems.
  • Inspire teamwork and collaboration inside and outside the Audio Dept.
Player Profile
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various aspects of game dialog.
  • Some knowledge of both linear and interactive dialog systems.
  • Minimum three years of experience in game audio development.
  • Shipped one major title.
  • Understanding of PS4/5, XBOX One/Series X, and PC audio functionality, capabilities, and limitations.
  • Experience with at least one major digital audio workstations.
  • Experience with middleware programs such as Wwise and Fmod.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
