The Lead Audio Designer will report to the VP, Game Design.
This is a Full-Time role.
What You Will Do- Add life, impact and storytelling to our worlds though sound effects, vocals and ambiences created in DAW tools (e.g. Pro Tools, Logic, Reaper)
- Manage music direction for the project, selecting from Disney’s extensive licensed catalog as well as coordinating with artists/composers producing original score, and integrate all music for an alluring product experience
- Provide guidance and feedback to the audio team on quality, consistency, and implementation to support the incredible gameplay, magical powers and storytelling based on Disney’s robust portfolio of characters and worlds including Disney/Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars
- Collaborate closely with creative directors, game designers and other key stakeholders to define audio quality bar and vision for the project
- Build a new team of audio designers, selecting the unique talent combination that can work closely with the rest of the team to deliver excellent quality across a diverse range of experiences and stories
- Collaborate with team leads and production to ensure audio staff are represented in all strike teams throughout development, and that they are fully scheduled and tasked. – Technically implement, integrate, troubleshoot and ensure the audio fidelity and proper performance of sounds and music in game – specifically in Unreal and UEFN
- Encourage a culture of respect, support, collaboration, comradery, and creativity throughout the audio team and beyond
- Serve as a key member of a growing game development team at Disney.
- At least 5+ years of game development experience in a highly responsible role for videogame audio. Holding a Lead Sound Designer position for at least 1 year.
- Involvement with full development cycles of multiple shipped game titles preferred.
- Expert understanding of Foley, recording, mixing, sound design, implementation (e.g. Wwise, Unreal/UEFN audio tools, etc), scripting voice over, localization techniques and best practices.
- Extensive understanding studio audio equipment and the research process.
- Deep musical knowledge as a musician and/or composer.
- Familiarity with the different kinds of production and implementation of music in a game scripting engine, from looping tracks to linear pieces and stingers.
- Ability to quickly learn and master new software and development pipelines.
- Ability to communicate a vision for the audio approach within a game experience.
- Strong game design awareness and ability to prototype, create and refine sound effects that support and communicate gameplay.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines and expectations.

The hiring range for this remote position is $118,900 to $183,400 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic’s generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).

We are looking for our next Audio Technician to join our Audio team. The main objective of this role is to bring support to our Audio team. In this position, you will be working with the sound crew in all audio operations to help oversee the installation, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of all Audio Department systems. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and will work well under pressure
The Audio Technician will have the opportunity to:- Inspect and maintain audio archives, RF, video and communications equipment; update maintenance and inspection records as directed;
- Manage cue track documentation, audio archives and participate in cue track rotation as directed;
- Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays;
- Develop a thorough knowledge of all audio department equipment specific to the production in order to operate equipment safely;
- Participate in special projects, including the installation of new audio show elements;
- Collaborate with department management, the artistic and stage management staff to support their needs during rehearsals, training and performances;
- Ensure all departmental designs, equipment, systems, functions, procedures, show tracks, maintenance and inspection logs, special projects, etc. are properly and adequately documented;
- Work with the department management to establish and maintain training and backup plans to ensure continuity of performance operations of the department in the event of unexpected failure of a system, component, or piece of equipment;
- Assist in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance routines and inspections – particularly life safety and show critical; ensure that these routines and inspections are appropriately documented;
- Adhere to and actively promote all applicable German occupational safety and health regulations, including DGUV standards, the Arbeitsschutzgesetz (ArbSchG), and industry-specific guidelines, to ensure the safe operation of all technical and performance-related elements of the production; participate in all required health and safety classes and emergency rescue procedure training;
- Perform other tasks and projects assigned by the Department HOD – Complete all other job-related duties as assigned.
- At least two years of previous experience as a professional Audio Technician;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications;
- Proficiency in operating audio, RF, video, and communications equipment; electronics training and audio equipment troubleshooting and repair skills an asset;
- In-depth knowledge of leading-edge sound technology;
- Operational knowledge of computer networking protocols, hardware interconnection, and computer-based real-time analysis audio system;
- Experience in LCS Cue Station programming and AutoCAD;
- Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays;
- Qualified Event Technology Specialist (Fachkraft für Veranstaltungstechnik) ;
- Certification or experience in handling stage machinery, rigging, and safety equipment (e.g., Sachkundeprüfung, IPAF certification) ;
- High School Diploma and or GED required; Completed Ausbildung as Veranstaltungstechniker/in (Event Technician) or equivalent qualification in stage technology ;
