Ka-boom is expanding its busy audio post-production team and is seeking a talented Sound Designer / Re-Recording Mixer to join us in delivering high-quality sound for a wide range of TV and film projects. This is a collaborative role that will see you working as part of a dynamic team on everything from track-lay and voice recording to full sound design and final mixing — depending on your experience and skill level.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with our team on the full audio post-production pipeline including track-lay, sound design, voice and ADR recording, and mixing.
- Set up and manage Pro Tools sessions, including Avid and third-party plugins.
- Ensure all deliverables meet broadcast and technical specifications.
- Troubleshoot audio issues and provide solutions efficiently.
- Stay up to date with the latest software, tools, and industry best practices.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to deliver audio that supports and enhances the creative vision.
- Proactively report any issues that could affect timelines or quality. Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a post-production environment.

About the Role:We are looking for a Junior Audio Designer to help create amazing games that engage and entertain.
Ideal candidates have a good knowledge of the games industry, and excellent audio skills (SFX and composition). They will be enthusiastic about Free to Play games and have a solid understanding of the benefits that dynamic audio can bring to drive the player’s emotional engagement.
The role is a junior-level position, and as such will work closely with Senior Audio Designers. Ideal candidates will have excellent communication skills, be willing to present their work to teams, and show flexibility & willingness to learn, while being able to take and receive feedback with empathy.
The Junior Audio Designer’s responsibilities include:- Align with the project vision, delivering appropriate audio within project constraints.
- Compose soundtracks, provide sound effects, and edit voice-over, as directed by a Senior Audio Designer or Audio Director
- Work constructively with other audio designers and team members to deliver results within constraints
- Working efficiently and effectively. Working independently when required, but also actively collaborating with others.
- Be flexible and prepared to work on a variety of projects, with a variety of needs.
- Audio creation and editing experience in a professional environment
- Excellent knowledge of Digital Audio Workstations [e.g. Logic X or Pro-tools]
- Skilled or knowledge in Digital audio middleware [e.g. FMOD, Wwise]
- Skilled with Unity.
- Keen interest in video games and interactive media
- Understanding of limitations for audio in mobile titles.

🌸 Role Introduction 🌸We are building a shiny, new, ambitious cozy game and would love to find an audio designer with a proven track record in creating thrilling, soothing and immersive game audio experiences.
If you are passionate about creating a magical and immersive soundscape like our first title, Wylde Flowers, then we would love to work with you!
Please note that this is not a music composition role — we already have a composer on board!🌸 What you’ll be doing 🌸
- Planning, concept and scheduling of all sound effects in the game, including ambient soundscapes, player interactions, cutscenes, UI feedback, and magical effects.
- Recording/sourcing of all required foley and editing into a consistent and appealing sound library.
- Implementing all sound events in FMOD, placing sources in our Unity scenes, and working with our animation and cutscene teams to bring cinematics to life.
- Coordinating with our music composer and code team to implement the interactive score.
- Advising and assisting with normalisation and EQ of voice over from our partner external recording studios.
- Designing and refining the overall mix and balance of all audio in the game, profiling and optimising CPU usage on our range of target platforms.
- Loves every aspect of audio design, and has a passion for great design found in games and other media.
- Has a deep understanding of “cozy” games, builders or life simulation games.
- Believes in collaboration and loves working with a team to create the best possible visual effects by adapting to new ideas and feedback.
- Is able to work independently with people in significantly different time zones. Knowing when to reach out for help or advice but loves problem solving as well.
