What you’ll be doingAs an Audio Programmer you will be expected to fulfill the following activities:
- Design and implement audio features and tools in Unreal Engine. You will work in-engine, improving, prioritising and optimising the runtime code that executes the game.
- Produce clean and robust code, following all standards and guidelines, including the use of automated testing processes
- Stay up-to-date with audio trends and technologies, and provide feedback and suggestions for audio improvements
- Pro-actively seek opportunities to improve the quality of everything we do
- Create, debug, and optimise audio features and DSP effects for performance
- Work on and improve our current audio development processes: workflows, tooling and audio systems, by both working individually and in collaboration with our Audio, Design and Engineering Team (e.g., propagation system, occlusion, reverb, early vs late reflections, etc.)
- Maintain, optimize and improve existing systems.
- Actively take part in our collaborative and creative team spirit
- At least 3 years of work experience programming as a C++ programmer, preferably on 3D audio and multiplayer.
- Experience with Wwise, FMOD or similar middleware.
- Experience writing runtime and memory-efficient code, debugging, and maintaining complex software systems.

The Challenge Ahead
We are currently seeking a skilled Audio Sound Effects Editor and Librarian for our department. You will take care of editing, tagging and organizing our valuable audio recordings into library formats.
This key role is perfect for audio librarians or career starters/changers with a great ear and organizational skills, who enjoy helping others while maintaining positivity and inclusivity. This is an opportunity to gain experience and build connections in the global audio development community at EA.
Responsibilities:- Edit and metatag EA-owned SFX archives for our library
- Edit and metatag new recordings and designed SFX for our library
- Assist with sound effects field recording and foley for our library
- Be the point of contact for library and recording standards
- Maintain SFX Library software licenses, network access, and shared databases (Soundminer and Soundly)
- Assist with onsite hardware support and recording gear management
- Project Archival – Consult with audio teams with the archival of projects, ensuring that all work is properly stored and easily accessible for future reference.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with audio editing/recording and sound library UCS formatting
- Familiarity with audio equipment
- Familiarity with audio library (Soundminer, Soundly) & DAW software (ProTools, Reaper)
- Demonstrated ability to self-organize, multitask and prioritize
- Some professional experience with Database management and/or IT is a big plus
- Familiarity with room acoustics and standard sound facility setups is a plus
