The Role
  • As the Audio Director you will set the creative vision for audio and lead the team responsible for bringing it to life, from thrilling combat to immersive exploration.   • You will define and drive the creative vision for all things related to audio for the game, ensuring the vision aligns with the game’s tone, pacing, and overall direction.

Compensation

Senior Sound Designer

Oculus Studios is searching for a Sound Designer to join our Central Audio team! As a Sound Designer on the Oculus Studios Central Audio Team, you will use your creative and technical skills to explore, define, and bring-to-life a new class of audio experiences on the forefront of new and emerging platforms, with a heavy emphasis on virtual reality.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the cross functional art and engineering teams to bring industry leading interactive experiences to life through audio
  • Partner with Creative Leadership to define and bring to life the high level sonic identity of Oculus Studios games/apps/projects
  • Use your craft mastery to mentor cross-functional and audio team members
  • Design, record, and implement SFX, VO, and audio content of all kinds
  • Collaborate with XR Audio and Research to develop platform tools
  • Manage project external talent such as music composition and VO auditioning
  • Set clear audio vision and goals in pre-production through ship
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of creative audio project ownership
  • 5+ years experience working as an interactive audio designer/developer

  • Proficiency in recording, designing and implementing high quality innovative audio experiences across multiple platforms, genres, and styles

We are looking for an Editor for the Central Europe region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) to join Spotify’s Editorial team in Berlin. In this role you will be part of the Music team in the GSA region.

You will contribute with your expertise to all sorts of music-related projects in the company, including playlists curation and cross-functional work with different teams in the region and beyond. You will bring deep cultural and music insights to craft highly engaging music experiences for listeners beyond playlists, will ensure an unbiased editorial voice for a multitude of moods, moments and genres, and you will drive artist discovery through a large editorial ecosystem of playlists and tools. You will also demonstrate a team player spirit, a passion for performance-oriented analytics and will have your ear to the ground in the Central Europe music community, with special attention to fandoms, trends and virality.

What You’ll Do
  • Be a culture guide and proactively identify music trends and opportunities for Spotify.

  • Listen to music from a wide range of musical genres and identify appropriate additional programming opportunities.

  • You have at least 3+ years of experience in the music industry, journalism, programming/curating music for digital, radio, TV, or other media outlets.
  • You have a real expertise of music and culture in GSA, a deep knowledge of music and artists from this region is required.
  • You possess a perfect level of written and spoken German and English.
  • You possess broad expertise across all genres and styles – but are an expert especially in Pop, you can curate music for diverse moods and moments.
  • You have strong writing skills and can effectively translate music and cultural insights into engaging content.
  • You are skilled in interpreting data and analytics to inform editorial decisions and optimize performance.
  • You are culturally aware, with the ability to critically evaluate music trends, emerging movements, and audience behavior beyond just data.
  • You are knowledgeable of Google Suite tools, comfortable with basic design tools and workflows, capable of creating visual assets like playlist covers when necessary.
  • You are an excellent communicator, capable of connecting with audiences through written, video, or audio commentary to enhance playlists.
