As a Sound Design Intern, your technical and creative audio skills will combine to bring life to the broad range of characters and experiences in our games. Joining efforts with a multidisciplinary team, you’ll help drive projects from their inception. Using your passion, creativity, and critical thinking you will continue to challenge and grow yourself as a member of the audio discipline.

As a Sound Design Internon League of Legends, you will be focused on designing sound and audio content for various product teams, with creative guidance and insight from product leads and initiative audio leads. You will also be endlessly creative, and motivated to level up in craft and process to make your ideas a reality for players. With direction and feedback, you can hit the quality bar of your craft, and are always hungry to apply what you have learned to the next challenge.

Please note, you will not be involved in the creation or production of music.

Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development and execution of audio for characters, skin-lines or other recurring features.
  • Develop constructive working relationships with others to achieve team goals.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to understand appropriate processes for audio content delivery.
  • Collaborate with central teams to ensure thematic consistency across in-game and out of game features.
  • Record, edit, and design sound effects using industry standard methods and tools.
  • Navigate discipline and team feedback.
  • Ensure quality of asset output by playtesting and gathering daily feedback on your content from your team and discipline.
Required Qualifications:
  • Graduating in the 2026 calendar year
  • Available to work full-time hours for the 12 week internship duration
  • Eligible to work in the country that you reside in during this remote program
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5
  • Currently enrolled in a college, university or non degree program
  • Familiarity with the holistic game audio process (i.e. Sound Design, Voice Over, Technology, Player Experience)
  • Proficiency with sound design creation tools (i.e. ProTools, Nuendo, Reaper, Izotope, Waves, Native Instruments) and techniques
  • Knowledge of sound design and voice over implementation methods
  • Knowledge of one audio middleware (i.e. Wwise, Fmod)
Desired Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with overall game engine technology (i.e. Unreal, Unity)
  • Experience working within collaborative team environments

For this role, you’ll find success through craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and decision-making that prioritizes the delight of players. We will be looking at your past studies, experience, and your personal relationship with games. If you embody player empathy and care about the experiences of players, this could be the role for you!

What You’ll Do
  • Define and design audio systems in Wwise and Unreal game engine.

  • Collaborate with the audio lead and other team members to establish and maintain the audio vision for projects.

  • Guide other developers on how to interface with, and use, audio systems

  • Assist in performance profiling of the games audio using WWise and other profiling tools

  • Create import/export tooling where needed for WWise to Unreal

  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and techniques in technical sound design and game audio.
  • Design and create high-quality sound effects, ambiances, and audio assets that enhance gameplay and storytelling.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, Game Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as a technical sound designer in the video game industry, preferably with AAA titles.
  • Excellent knowledge of Wwise integration in Unreal and implementation of audio in interactive environments.
  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine and the implementation of audio in interactive environments.
  • Excellent understanding of sound theory, including acoustics, propagation and signal processing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Motorola Solutions’ Florida team is searching for an Engineering Intern to join an advanced technology and product design team that is focused on wireless speech communications under a wide range of conditions, for demanding customers.

The position is for an internship for Summer 2025.

Responsibilities may include:
  • Development of audio data analysis and visualization methods
  • Automation of Audio Lab testing and Data Acquisition
  • Concept prototyping: take a new audio algorithm or design from concept to initial working model to assess technical performance and strength of perception
  • Develop machine learning techniques for audio processing and data analysis
Desired skills and abilities:
  • Matlab and/or Python programming.
  • DSP programming
  • Audio Laboratory experience
