About the role

As Project Audio Director, you will be responsible for defining the audio design vision of a project by recognizing the specific needs and challenges, both on a creative and a technical level as well as being part of the project’s leadership team and contributing ideas toward all aspects of the game’s production, development, and creative vision.

You will oversee all of the creation and implementation of sound assets, VO, and music, and be accountable for a well-balanced, high-quality audio experience. Together with the Head of Audio and the Audio Producer you'll help formulate a game plan for how to realistically achieve each project's goals as well as accurately assess the time required to complete each task.

By acting as a mentor to all of our Sound Designers and talent pool, your work will have a direct and influential impact on the quality and feel of the project, and help shape the future development of our Audio Department.


  • Demonstratable experience in game development with at least two shipped titles as Lead Audio Designer or similar
  • Proven track record in high-quality audio design and implementation skills
  • An understanding of audio in both linear and non-linear environments
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work and inspire in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills, and experience working with cross-discipline teams
  • Solid understanding of audio technical budgeting and optimization best practices for games

Job Purpose:
As Studio Audio Director, you work with both your audio department and the game teams defining the audio direction across all products across game development and publishing. You build and oversee smooth pipelines and ensure the highest audio quality is achieved by internal and external development in collaboration with the product and marketing creative direction. You are the gate keeper for audio quality across the studio.

As the figure head of audio, you are expected to work closely with your team across multiple studio projects and incentives while providing direct leadership and guidance. You are an inspirational leader who provides motivation, mentoring and coaching as well as advocating team creativity and best practices throughout the audio department including health and well-being.

At a Director level you also contribute toward studio wide topics, decisions and directives that will move the studios creative department forward and continue to establish Jagex as a studio of exceptional talent.   • Runs the day to day operations of the audio team

Essential Requirements:
  • Able to tangibly demonstrate high quality audio delivery and direction

Your Mission

As Infinity Ward Austin’s Audio Director, you will establish and execute an audio vision. You will represent and defend the vision by keeping close contact with all other directors and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in audio design and production, with proficiency in sound design, music production, and voice production. Additionally, they should be skilled at managing, developing, and mentoring audio staff.
