Sledgehammer Games is looking for a passionate and experienced game Sound Designer to help create a fresh new AAA aural experience for our next project. You will be involved in virtually every aspect of game audio content development alongside one of the most passionate and experienced audio teams in the industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Interactive and linear sound effects design.
• Real-time audio scripting.
• Audio asset implementation.
• Mixing & mastering.
• Field recording.
• Dialog processing.
• Music editing.
• Audio tools & run-time systems design collaboration.

Requirements:
• Demonstrated creative and technical achievements in sound design.
• Minimum three to five years of experience in game audio development.
• Shipped at least two major titles.
• Fluency in game audio implementation systems.
• Experience in game audio scripting or other relevant programming environments.
• Understanding of PS4, XBOX One, and PC audio functionality, capabilities, and limitations.
• Experience with major digital audio workstations, and power-user of at least one.

Nice to haves:

Audio Programmer

Job description

As an Audio Programmer, you will be responsible for implementing features related to all aspects of in-game audio. You will also be working closely with the Audio Director and the sound designers to establish requirements and to provide tools and audio systems for the game.

Type of Position: Permanent, full-time.

Responsibilities:
– Conduct audio improvements for the pipeline tools and develop new features related to the audio design requirements.
– Learn in-house audio tools and participate in their development with the core tech group.
– Long term goals are to participate in the growth of a strong audio programmer community in the Toronto studio.

Training:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or software engineering or equivalent training or experience.

Qualifications:
– Minimum of 5 years’ experience in general programming, preferably in audio programming;
– Game development experience on an AAA title an asset.

Essential Skills
– Strong C/C++/C# language skills;
– Hand-on experience with audio middleware (ex: Miles, FMOD, Wwise, etc.);
– Understanding of audio technical concepts (ex: Mixing, Sample rates, Data compression, Filters, Reverbs, 3D positional audio, etc.);
– Interest in tools, audio pipe line and audio 3D rendering, knowledge in DSP algorithm is an asset;
– Experience with Max MSP is an asset;
– Knowledge in granular syntheses is a plus;
– Knowledge in audio Occlusion /propagation is a plus;
– Knowledge in Ambisonic format is a plus.
