Rocksteady Studios is looking to add to its family of staff. We are looking for an exceptionally talented Senior Sound Designer who has experience of producing audio for multi-award winning, AAA, blockbuster video games in a senior role. This person should be ready to tackle the challenges facing audio on the current generation platforms.

You will be dedicated and committed to seeing the project through to its completion. This is a senior role with a strong technical bias so being equally as comfortable designing systems as you are designing sounds is key.

Key Responsibilities
• Create world class SFX in line with the project’s high standards of quality.
• Work closely with other teams to define audio pipelines/systems.
• Maintain and develop systems under your ownership through to the project’s completion.
• Continue to develop your skills and share this knowledge with those around you to contribute to a culture of learning within the team.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Expert working knowledge of Unreal Engine 3 / 4, AudioKinetic Wwise, Avid Pro Tools, Perforce and Python.
• Expert knowledge of Sound Devices recorders and the standard compliment of microphones (Sennheiser, Schoeps, DPA, etc…) used in the field.
• Experience working in an audio studio environment utilising various hardware and software procesors, patch bays, microphones, etc …

SKILL REQUIREMENTS
• Strong technical sound design and implementation skills with a proven track record in creating successful generative and systemic approaches to sound implementation.
• Highly experienced in designing world class SFX. You understand that AAA sound design does not come from commercial libraries but from the sounds you record and create.
• Experience with debugging systems, audio play-testing and audio quality assurance. You understand the importance of identifying, prioritising, reporting and resolving audio issues.
• Extensive working knowledge of various in-game profiling tools. You will know how to use the data gathered to optimise sounds in terms of memory, virtual voices and CPU performance with minimal detriment to the player’s experience.
• Good understanding of programming and scripting. You can discuss issues at length with audio programmers.
• Experience successfully working and communicating with multiple disciplines to implement audio. Be comfortable designing and discussing in precise and clear terms requirements of audio systems.
• Have the confidence and skills to drive ideas through and enthuse members of the team.
• Be able to make smart decisions under pressure. Be focussed with the job in hand.
• Well versed in both traditional and more exotic field and studio recording techniques.
• You have a deep understanding of how to utilise your vast knowledge of microphones, outboard equipment and plug-ins to achieve spectacular results.

You will be dedicated, and committed to seeing the project through to its completion. This is a senior role with a large amount of responsibility guiding the dialogue through to its final realisation.

Key Responsibilities
• Record, edit and process dialogue to a world class standard in line with the project’s high standards of quality.
• Work closely with other teams to define dialogue playback systems.
• Maintain and develop the systems under your ownership through to the project’s completion.
• Continue to develop your skills and share this knowledge with those around you to contribute to a culture of learning within the team.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Expert working knowledge of Avid Pro Tools, Unreal Engine 3 / 4, AudioKinetic Wwise, and Perforce.
• Expert knowledge of recording studio workflows, microphones and outboard equipment.
• Experience working with production sound equipment.
• Familiarity with Python scripting.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS
• You are experienced and have a proven track record in implementing and designing great sounding dialogue. You are an expert at applying special voice processing, editing and mastering dialogue assets. You understand why this is fundamental to supporting the gameplay experience.
• A high degree of confidence and experience working with actors and directors to achieve great results in the studio.
• Highly experienced and knowledgeable in dialogue pipelines from recording through to playback in game. You understand the need for great sounding dialogue and have experience realising this for large AAA blockbuster titles.
• Have the confidence to drive through ideas and enthuse members of the team.

We’re looking for someone who has…
A keen awareness of interactive audio and how it contributes to the gaming experience
5+ years of audio experience in games, including:
The ability to create and design a wide array of innovative sound effects
A solid base of technical audio theory both for sound design and how it relates to games
Editing and mixing non-linear media (ex. trailers, in-game cinematics, etc.)
Conceptualizing and executing audio features
Identifying and solving technical and aesthetic problems

It’s a bonus if you have…
Experience working with Audiokinetic Wwise
Field recording sound effects
Familiar with RTS and/or Relic games

Role Overview
DICE is looking for a highly driven Sound Designer Intern to work alongside their in-house team, as they design and implement audio assets for high-profile, action-packed titles for PS4, Xbox One and PC. We want you to be passionate about making great games, demonstrate excellent sound creation skills, be a strong problem-solver and an effective communicator, and whilst some prior knowledge of game-creation is a bonus, it isn’t expected.

What Skills Does DICE Look For?
• Proficient with modern studio hardware, recording techniques, and software such as Pro Tools, Reaper, Sound Forge, Waves plugins, RX etc.
• Proficient with recording gear and techniques.
• Desire to develop game audio, audio production and engineering skills.
• Outstanding sound design skills and listening skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong artistic and creative sense.

General Information
The internship is a non-paid and temporarily employment. The internship needs to be associated with a University education related to audio or any other type of audio education that has an internship period planned into the education plan, and would preferably run from March to June 2017. We are not able to provide relocation services for this role, so we will only consider candidates already residing in Sweden.
