Sound Designer

Job description

Arkane Studios, Lyon location (France) part of the ZeniMax Media Inc. company, is seeking talented Sound Designers to join our team in making AAA games. Answering to the Audio Director, the Sound Designer is responsible for creating and implementing audio for in-game sequences, cinematics, HUD/UI, scripted events, and every action and movement in the game.

The main responsibilities include:
• Creation and integration of audio assets (SFXs, Musics, VOs, …) into the game engine.
• Work for the different sub-teams (gameplay, level design cinematics, …) to produce and implement SFX , VOs, music according to their needs
• Collaborate with programmers to design and improve the Audio Tech
• Collaborate with the producer to set up and maintain schedules for the sound production of the entire project
• Assist with the recording of temporary Voice Over
• Write technical documentation

• Experience creating audio for AAA video game titles
• Extensive knowledge and expertise in audio recording, editing, processing, integration, and mixing.
• Experience with Wwise or similar game audio middleware.
• Excellent organization and communication skills. A proven ability to convert abstract direction into sonic reality
• French and English skills

Technical Sound Designer

Amazon Game Studios is looking for a Sound Designer with very strong technical skills to create and integrate the game’s audio. You will raise the bar for the quality and originality of audio at Amazon Game Studios. You will be an acknowledged expert in sound implementation, and demonstrated ability in sound design and voice over production.

• Implement audio assets in WWISE and Lumberyard, interacting with other game systems editors and CMS, writing scripts as needed.
• Create sound effects, and voice over
• Work with the audio director to support the vision and direction for the audio in the game
• Drive high quality standard for audio throughout the game experience
• Build relationships and manage asset workflow with the rest of the team and external sound vendors
• Innovate and drive new audio features for the game and Lumberyard engine

Basic Qualifications:
• Shipped 2+ games as Sound Designer
• High level expertise with Audiokinetic’s WWISE
• Scripting experience
• Experience with the entire audio creation process, including sound effects, voice over, music, sound implementation and audio technology
• Experience managing asset flow with external vendors
• Expertise with Field Recording Equipment and Capturing Sound Effects
• Past experience providing technical implementation for the audio team

Preferred Qualifications:
• A passion for video games and the role that audio plays in player experience
• Scripting experience in Lua, XML and visual scripting tools
• Experience improving and optimizing proprietary audio pipelines and integration processes
• Multi player experience a plus

Senior Sound Designer

Senior Sound Designer

To take our upcoming games to new and greater heights, we’re looking for an experienced and passionate Audio Lead.

• Sound task management in the team (description, distribution, supervision).
• Active communication inside the team and with multiple departments to ensure that all sound needs are covered and the end results are at a high-quality level.
• Maintain a high-level planning of the sound production.
• Evaluate, prioritize and dispatch reported issues inside the team.
• Sound design and implementation.
