Voice Designer Lead

The Meta Creative Audio team is looking for an experienced Voice Lead to drive AI voice and Assistant product work across Meta. The candidate should be passionate about high quality product sound and enhancing the user experience through audio. Ideally, the candidate should have experience with voice and conversation design. A background in technical sound design and an enthusiasm for innovative audio design is a must.

Voice Designer Lead Responsibilities
  • Manage all phases of voice design, production, implementation, deployment, and support ongoing quality control initiatives.
  • Oversee multiple voice projects and manage voice audio libraries using content management systems.
  • Manage budgets for studio vendors, talent contracts including exclusivity, and ensure contracts are executed to meet Meta’s standards and guidelines.
  • Adapt communication to collaborate with teams across a variety of disciplines, including voice research scientists, software engineers, and product managers.
  • Responsible for defining creative and technical voice design requirements, including training and onboarding.
  • Drive projects to completion in a fast-paced and highly fluid environment .
  • Investigate, triage, escalate, and follow up on reported bugs.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and vendors.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 4+ years in text-to-speech voice development, technical sound design, or equivalent experience
  • Experience leading XFN project teams and managing multiple vendors
  • Proven critical listening skills, experience with verifying audio quality on software and hardware with a proven ear for maintaining high quality
  • Experience with voice production or audio post production, including casting, recording, editing, and mastering
  • Proficiency in digital audio workstations and editing tools (such as Pro Tools and Izotope RX)
  • Proven understanding of DSP, audio synthesis, and digital audio concepts and formats
  • Scripting or programming experience (Python, C++, JavaScript)
  • Familiarity with QA processes, test plans, and bug tracking
  • Proven communication skills
Preferred Qualifications

Reporting to the Audio Manager and collaborating across functions, but particularly with the Creative Director, cinematics and motion capture teams, they will help to run our in-house audio facilities and staff. The role is based in the studio for three days per week.
