RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the audio team by providing clear guidance on the audio vision and ensuring everyone is on the same page.
  • Supervise, create and integrate diverse audio elements, working alongside audio designers from the initial concept phase through to the final mix.
  • Collaborate with Game Directors and Producers to align the audio strategy with the game’s overall direction and long-term goals. – Work with programmers to explore and implement innovative audio technologies.
  • Identify and assess the team’s needs for audio tools and resources, assuring that the project is well-equipped to meet its goals.

Audio Designer

Job description

We are looking for a dedicated audio designer for the ever-expanding world of Sky. This role creates and implements sound effects meeting technical and narrative requirements for Sky with our in-house audio, art, design and engineering team members. From epic cinematics to subtle animation sound, and from mysterious world’s ambience to cute creatures chirping no one has ever heard in real life, all of the acoustic pieces are essential parts of immersion and player experience. Magic is waiting to happen with your imagination and creativity.

Must haves:
  • 2+ years of professional audio experience in cross-platform and multiplayer game interactive entertainment development
  • Deep experience with at least one of common digital audio workstation (Cubase, Nuendo, Logic, Studio One, Live, Reaper, FL Studio, Pro Tools, Digital Performer, etc.)
  • Extensive experience with virtual audio plug-ins and digital audio hardwares – Experience in recording and editing of foley and/or dialogue
  • Deep understanding of audio sample editing including but not limited to smooth loop creation, noise reduction, pitch shifting, time stretch and encoding.
  • Familiarity with at least one of common audio middleware (Fmod is preferred, or Wwise, Miles, ADX, Fabric, etc.)
  • A passion for Sky: Children of the Light as an experienced player and understanding of the product’s vision
Good to haves:
  • Proficiency in C/C++ or experience in game programming
  • Experience in mixing surround audio formats – Experience in designing procedural and/or generative AI audio – Familiarity with at least one of common version control systems (PerForce is preferred, or GitHub, GitLab, SVN, etc.) 
  • Background in audio design, audio technology, audio production, music composition, sound mixing/recording, interactive entertainment, computer science or acoustic engineering

Working closely with our in-house tech team, you will help work on our in-house game engine, Asura. The successful candidate will design, implement, and test new audio features while also maintaining and updating the existing codebase.

Additionally, you will develop and maintain tools that enable designers to create content, collaborating closely with them to introduce new features and identify any issues. You will also work with other teams to support their game development needs.
