The Game Audio QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of audio in video games. This includes testing and evaluating Spatial audio workflows, sound effects, to identify and document any bugs or technical issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of audio middleware such as Wwise, FMOD, Audio engineering basics, and quality assurance principles, as well as a passion for video games.
Employment Type: 3 month internship. Will be converted into full-time role based upon performance during internship
Requirements- Identify and report audio bugs and defects, including clipping, distortion, and other audio glitches
- Collaborate with audio developers, audio engineers and sound designers to resolve audio issues and implement technical solutions
- Verify that audio algorithms meet the game’s design and technical
specifications, and platform requirements
- Analyze and optimize audio performance to ensure efficient memory usage and CPU utilization
- Implement and test audio scripts and middleware integration to ensure seamless audio playback and functionality
- Provide feedback on audio improvements and enhancements from both a technical and artistic perspective
- Stay up-to-date on the latest audio technology, tools, and industry trends in game development.
- Participate in game development meetings and discussions, offering insights on technical audio implementation and optimization.

Your Role- Design, mix, and master high-quality audio assets using industry-standard DAWs
- Implement immersive sound design into gameplay environments using Unreal Engine
- Raise the bar for audio quality across our brand and titles

- Create original sound effects and environmental audio

About The TeamOur instrument Developer team is responsible for building our Kontakt instrument products, both in-house and working in partnership with external builders and sound designers. The primary focus of the team is building our ‘lighthouse’ sample instruments which innovate and push boundaries, and working with our other teams to develop the technologies that make instrument building more efficient for us and our industry partners.
Your Contribution- You will develop virtual instruments that build on our heritage and open new creative possibilities
- Work closely with team colleagues, product managers, designers, engineers and partners to ensure we deliver amazing products
- Be a voice for engineering in cross-discipline discussions about future projects and approaches.
- Establish and nurture best practices in instrument creation, by supporting colleagues and partners, creating documentation and sample projects and innovating future instrument creation.
- Be a part of us shaping the team that will continue deliver high quality instruments
- Recent experience in team-based software development, ideally in an agile environment
- Experienced in a scripting language, ideally in scripting musical instruments, for instance KSP.
- Some experience of computer music production, e.g. using a DAW
