The Principal Audio Designer, supporting Disney Cruise Line, serves as the creative leader and representative for Disney Live Entertainment (DLE) Audio Design department. The Principal Audio Designer leads the Design team (Audio Designers and Programmers), and supervisor for local operating crews, contractors, and vendors through the completion of projects.

Responsibilities/You will:
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert, Creative and Administrative Leader, responsible for all Entertainment Audio systems and participate in a Project’s creative development and production phases, including blue-sky brainstorming, project kick-off, scope definition, feasibility, and budgetary ROMs
  • Provide oversight and input during Creative Reviews, Design Reviews, and other major milestone checkpoints and develop and/or implement Audio System designs for live shows and facility infrastructure
  • Be an engaged leader of Audio system R&D efforts, participating as necessary to collaborate with other Company technology divisions, responsible and accountable for the audio systems and quality of all DLE productions
  • Direct all Audio Design Projects – helping Designers to plan, prioritize, coordinate, brain-storm, problem solve, budget, procure, install, and implement their design concept throughout the entire course of a Project
  • Be accountable for resource planning, budgeting, and estimating at both the Department and Project levels, and developing a pipeline of both internal and external Audio Design talent
  • Lead a creative team of proficient, multidisciplinary Designers, as well as function as a working member of the design team with a natural inclination to generate ideas and the ability to do so with great proficiency
  • Assist with negotiations and lead contracted Audio Designers and Vendors ensuring Disney quality, compatibility, training, and accurate documentation of all audio services delivered
Basic Qualifications/You will have:
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the Entertainment Industry working in audio system design, media playback, programming, routing, show development, and operation of live shows
  • Outstanding understanding of current technology, theory, and Industry standards for all aspects of audio system design, as applied to live show and facility systems
  • Advanced comprehension of the various formats for audio content creation and compatible delivery systems in both file delivery and live delivery environments, and understanding of SMPTE standards
  • Understanding of audio distribution and routing systems, including advanced network setup, advanced signal flow, file management, and advanced audio programming methods
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in Audio Design practice and procedures including show design, live performer amplification, and audio control design
  • Demonstrated functional leadership ability, including problem-solving, influencing abilities, negotiating skills, and continuous improvement process experience

Haven Studio’s Voice Designer will design and implement all voice-related content in our recently announced Fairgame$ title from conception to completion. You will work closely with Audio, Design and Production, to ensure that we achieve AAA quality voice content.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Prepare and develop all voice-related content for our game
  • Collaborate with the narrative and audio directors to develop the voice aesthetics and systems
  • Plan, schedule, and attend voice recording sessions according to project milestones
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure the voice design of the game is fully known, documented, and realized throughout development
  • Participate in creating and organizing voice-related content in the voice database structure and pipeline
  • Implement, organize, and maintain content and structure in proprietary voice database applications
  • Carry out post-production of voice-related content as needed
  • Manage and implement voice-related assets into the sound and game engine

Audio Director

We are looking for a talented and experienced Audio Director to join our video game development team. As Audio Director, you will oversee all audio production and implementation for our games across multiple platforms. You will manage and work with a team of sound designers, composers, audio programmers and more to create immersive auditory experiences for our players.

The Audio Director is responsible for the overall sound aesthetics, direction, budget, and quality control for our games. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including art, design, narrative, programming, and production to ensure the audio aligns with the game’s vision. As Audio Director, you will establish workflow processes, guide the audio team’s work, and ensure delivered assets meet quality standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Decide on overall auditory style and tone for games in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Lead final audio mix process to achieve intended aesthetics and player experience
  • Manage audio department staffing, budget, schedules, workflows and deliverables
  • Guide audio team’s work and provide direction to sound designers, composers and more
