The Role:
As a Music Intern, you will learn from industry veterans and gain valuable hands on experience in the field of game audio. By recording and editing audio files and integrating them into our games, you will have an experience that is both rewarding and challenging. You will be assigned meaningful work that will directly enhance your grounding in a real world, fast paced professional production environment.

Ideal Requirements:
• Ability to support music integration into games
• Music editing and knowledge of Pro Tools or similar DAW
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience using MS Office (Excel and Word)
• Understanding of database technology and asset management
• Music production including MIDI sequencing, scoring or editing to visual media, recording practices and related technology
• Experience game testing for music behavior, bug reporting is a plus

Qualifications
PlayStation Spring Internships are typically 12 weeks in length. Our ideal candidates are junior or senior undergraduates, Masters or Ph.D. students. You will work closely with audio designers to design, create and maintain systems and tools in Snowdrop, our in-house developed engine.

This is a full time position that requires a relocation to Malmö, Sweden.

Responsibilities
– Drive the development of the snowdrop audio-tools & systems, in collaboration with the audio team
– Maintain the current tools & systems in a workable state

Responsibilities
– Set out the sound design with the core team in the project design phase;
– Realise the impact of the targets set by project managers in terms of workload and resources when designing the scope and deliverables or processing project changes and implement problem-solving strategies for the team whenever necessary;
– Organise and coordinate the activities and resources required as part of the production process at all project phases;
– Challenge team members whenever necessary to ensure that all technical decisions are sound and based on facts;

Required Skills
– Have been Senior Audio Designer or above, working in the games industry for 4+ years with at least 2 complete cycles of shipped AAA titles
– The ability to work collaboratively with other departments; to understand their needs, priorities and to take their input
