We are currently seeking a Sound Designer to join our Audio team.
From the beginning of your adventure with us, you will be tasked with:
• Creating the entire sound aspect of games under the supervision of the Audio Director. *Please note that this position does not involve composing music. 

Qualifications
Expérience et compétences recherchées :
  • Préférablement un diplôme en conception sonore ;
  • Expérience professionnelle de 3 à 5 ans minimum en conception sonore dans le domaine du jeu vidéo. Avec preuve à l’appui (démo) ;
  • Vous jouez aux jeux vidéo sur console depuis longtemps et avez une bonne notion des standards de qualité actuels en matière d’audio ;
  • Vous aimez travailler en équipe, vous avez l’esprit créatif, d’analyse et de synthèse, vous êtes très rigoureux (se), doté(e) d’un bon sens relationnel et vous disposez de grandes capacités d’organisation ;
  • Vous êtes capable de créer et comprendre rapidement l’atmosphère sonore d’un jeu vidéo ;
  • Maîtrise approfondie des logiciels utilisés sur la plateforme Windows (Protools/Reaper/etc…, Soundminer, SVN) et les éditeurs audio (Sound Forge, WaveLab, Audition…) ainsi que les outils web de type Confluence, Jira. Vous devez aussi connaître et maîtriser les plug-ins VST les plus communs, nécessaires à l’édition et au mixage audio ;
  • Parfaite connaissance des contraintes techniques (optimisation audio, mémoire et autres) liées aux sons et formats audio des jeux vidéo ;
  • Connaître et maîtriser plusieurs moteurs audio (middleware du type FMod ou Wwise) ;
  • Aptitude à enregistrer (bruitages/enregistrements sur le terrain), créer et éditer des sons originaux sous différentes formes ;
  • Avoir une bonne connaissance des librairies d’effets sonores disponibles sur le marché ;
  • Aptitude à gérer logiquement et clairement des bases de données imposantes (listes de sons) ;
  • Très bonne communication, autant à l’oral qu’à l’écrit.
Et par-dessus tout, de la motivation et une passion pour son métier.

Experience and Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years professional experience in Sound Design in the video game industry. Demos will be requested.
  • A diploma in Sound Design is an asset.
  • The ideal candidate is expected to have many years experience playing video games on consoles and have acquired a good understanding of current sound quality standards.
  • Moreover, the ideal candidate should be a team player; have a strong sense of creativity, analysis and synthesis; be hard-working; have effective interpersonal skills; and have strong organizational skills.
  • The ideal candidate must also be able to easily create and understand sound environments of video games.
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows audio software (Pro Tools, REAPER, Soundminer, SVN, etc.) and audio editors (Sound Forge, WaveLab, Audition, etc.), as well as web tools such as Confluence and JIRA. Must also have an expert knowledge of the most common VST plugins necessary for editing and mixing audio.
  • Complete understanding of technical limitations (audio optimisation, memory, etc.) related to sounds and audio formats used in the industry.
  • Understanding and good command of several audio engines (middleware such as FMOD and Wwise.)
  • Skilled at recording (sound effects/recording in the field), creating and editing original sounds in different formats.
  • Good knowledge of sound effects libraries available on the market.
  • Able to manage large databases (lists of sounds) clearly and logically.
  • Very good communicator, both verbal and written.
And above all, you must be motivated and passionate about the job.

As a Senior Audio Designer, you will be responsible for collaborating with the design, writing and animation teams to make sure the audio matches the visuals, design and game vision of the project

Responsibilities
  • Help define the project’s overall audio direction along with creative stakeholders.
  • Act as an interface between the audio team and project stakeholders.
  • Create content and help with in-game implementation.
  • Assist with polishing and bug fixing efforts.
  • Ensure that consistent communication is maintained, in all directions, to guarantee the quality of the game.
  • Provide accurate time estimations for tasks and meet production deadlines.
  • You are more than happy to mentor other members of the design team, helping them to improve and grow.
Requirements and qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in game development and at least one shipped AAA title as a Senior Sound Designer.
  • An understanding of audio in both linear and non-linear environments.
  • Proven track record on high quality audio design and implementation skills.
  • Ability and ambition to build an inspiring creative vision for audio.
  • Experience on studio-based and outsourced sound effects production work.
  • Excellent problem solving skills combined with a great team player attitude.
  • Experience with standard audio creation software – REAPER, Pro Tools, Vegas Pro, Izotope RX etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (in English).
  • Positive, solution-orientated and independent approach to work.
The ideal candidate will also have
  • Experience in cinematic storytelling and FPS games.
